Ask IGOR^AI is able to process full text when the full text file is attached to the document. This way you are probably able to extract more and precise information than from the abstract (and/or claims) alone. Whenever there is a file attached to a document, Ask IGOR^AI will take it into account.

How to attach a file to a document?

Full text files can only be attached to existing documents in your Universe, so you first need to add a document through the plugin or the Create new button. It is currently not possible to import a file directly to your Universe.

Once the document is created you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the document in the Universe.

  2. Navigate to the Attachment tab.

  3. On the Attachment tab you can see if there is already a document attached to the document.

  4. To attach a new file, click on Add file and select the file to upload.

    1. If a file is already attached to this document and you want to replace it for another file, click on the 3-dot icon on the right ⠇ and select Replace file.

    2. File upload is currently limited to PDF, Word (docx), and Powerpoint (pptx) files with a 50MB file size.

How do I get the full text of papers found?

It greatly depends on the subscriptions your company has with various publishers papers if you have access to the full text. Be mindful to check the terms and conditions of licenses before uploading full text files to the Universe.

In our document list views we show an Open Access icon next to the title of a document when it has an Open Access copyright license, which means the full text available either on the external page itself or through a download button. N.B.: The exact details regarding the usage of these files differs per publisher.

Open Access logo serves as an indicator in the document list views
